With their latest album looming large on this month’s release schedule. Sylosis have released the third instalment in a trilogy of hard-hitting singles this week. Fittingly entitled Lacerations, the most recent offering from the bands seventh studio outing is perhaps their most malevolent teaser yet.
Dark, brooding, atmospheric and with a heavy palm muted groove at its core. Lacerations proves once again that Sylosis are not only at the zenith of their arc musically. But that have something truly explosive up their sleeves in the shape of The New Flesh. Which is set to land on store shelves and digital streaming platforms everywhere on February 20th.
Frontman and guitarist, Josh Middleton had this to say about the band’s latest single-
“Lacerations has become a firm favourite amongst those that have heard the new record. After this song came together during the early stages of writing, I felt a huge sense of relief knowing that we had achieved our best song to date. I couldn’t get the chorus out of my head and that’s usually a good sign. Once we had this song under our belts, we knew this album would a big step up in terms of our writing abilities.
Musically it calls back to some of the darker melancholic sounds from Edge of the Earth or even The Supreme Oppressor but with a ton of heavy riffs in there. Lyrically, this song is about facing your own mortality and health anxiety. I think a lot of people can relate to spiralling out of control when they think something’s wrong and how differently you look at your life, and what matters most when confronted with those intrusive thoughts.”
Currently ripping their way across Europe on one of their biggest tours yet. It’s no coincidence that the UK leg of Sylosis’s latest campaign kicks off on February 20th at London’s o2 Kentish Town Forum. Where they’ll be joined by special guests Heaven Shall Burn, The Black Dhalia Murder and Frozen Soul. Celebrating The New Flesh’s debut in style with one of the heaviest bills of the year so far.

If you can’t make it to London there’s no need to despair just yet though. Sylosis will be following up what’s sure to be a spectacular release party with shows at The Ritz in Manchester and The Academy in Dublin on the 21st and 22nd of February respectively. If you want to catch them anywhere this month we recommend moving quickly though. As tickets for all three dates are selling fast!
The New Flesh is available to pre-order now via Nuclear Blast Records. For tickets and more information on the bands upcoming tour dates head over to their official website.
